4D/3N Uyuni Salt Flats Tour Day 4: Last Day

There was a sizable number of people in the hotel lounge area with us at 5am. Looks like an early set-off time is common for Uyuni tours. Our driver scrounged up some breakfast for us along the way.

Our first pancakes in 3 weeks!

The driver made two unscheduled detours as a treat for us. He brought us to yet another stunning lagoon (how many are there??) and an area with towering reddish volcanic rock formations.

These are some snapshots from the car journey. The landscape looked particularly dreamy that day.

To cap off our South American adventure, the last of the animals I had hoped to see on this journey suddenly wandered into view. Meet the rhea, a relative of the emu. Rhea Sighting in Bolivia Uyuni

Near the border. Almost tempted to swing towards the left.

Quick lunch at Las Delicias de Carmen before going off to the airport. This stew was really good. Meltingly tender meat in a savoury broth.

With that, we bade Atacama and Uyuni adios.
