The Sunny Side of Helsinki 

We had a six hours layover at Helsinki airport. Based on our first day, we knew that was ample time for a trip downtown.

The city felt completely different. Compared to the ghost town we saw last Saturday, today’s Helsinki had a bustling and lively vibe. What a difference the sun makes!

We wanted salmon soup, but the group in front of us got the last bowl. Grrr… Made do with a mixed box of calamari and vendaces instead. I was a little apprehensive about the fried fish initially, but it was good. Crunchy.

Yes, even at 0°c, I was in the mood for ice-cream. The round ice-cream freezer was really cool! Enjoyed watching the lady spin the tub around to get to the flavours we wanted.
