Frankfurt’s Christmas market was beautiful, no doubt about it. It was super festive and the wooden stalls were topped with gorgeous elaborate decorations. It had a more cosmopolitan vibe as compared to Nuremberg’s which was great as I did not feel like I was visiting the same market set in a different city.
We started at the main market at Römerberg. The layout wasn’t as neat as Nuremberg’s but following the trail of lights got us around.
Frankfurt Christmas Market
Food
Yummy as usual but the options were not as varied. We looked out for less traditional fare but did not spot any.
Where We Stayed
Hamburger Hof Hotel
We wanted to be near Frankfurt’s central station and Hamburger Hof Hotel fitted the bill beautifully. It was right next to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. Took us less than 5 minutes to get there once we identified the correct train station exit. When we checked in, they didn’t have any double rooms available, so we were stuck with a twin room. However, we were still really pleased with the hotel. The room was tiny and simple, but cheerful, neat and modern (and very reasonably priced at under 150 SGD a night).
Location was good for the Christmas market as well. Römerberg was just a short walk away.
