We tried two hotels during our time in Hanoi, Essence Hanoi Hotel and Hanoi La Siesta Trendy Hotel. While Essence Hanoi Hotel was good as well in terms of room amenities and service, we found the modern chic aesthetics of Hanoi La Siesta Trendy Hotel more appealing. Best part was that the room was only around 130 SGD a night!
Hanoi La Siesta Trendy Hotel
Upon arrival, we were immediately served refreshing welcome drinks and fruits. During the check-in process, we were handed a map of Hanoi, as well as a specially prepared list of restaurants and attractions that were open during Tet (greatly appreciated as that saved us a Q&A session with the concierge).

The in-house restaurant is on the top floor, with both indoor and outdoor seating.
Lunch
We had our first meal in Hanoi there and it set the bar high. Every dish was bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. The Hanoi grilled fish, in particular, was a standout. The fish came separately from its accompanying vermicelli, herbs, dipping sauce, shallots and peanuts. We had to assemble all components in a bowl and mix them before eating.
Prices are higher than the usual restaurants in Hanoi but if you want a good meal in a lovely setting, this is the place to go.
Breakfast
Our breakfast was included in the room rate and it had a good selection of Western and Asian options.
We will definitely stay at Hanoi La Siesta Trendy again the next time we visit Hanoi!
