Yosemite National Park in October was a little underwhelming. It was still beautiful but we had expected a greater variety in landscapes. Perhaps it was due to Tioga Pass and Mariposa Grove being closed and the lakes being fairly dry, but one day was sufficient for us to take in the sights.
We entered the park from the Big Oak Flat entrance, via (Highway 120).
Patches of glowing autumn foliage peeked out at intervals.
Yosemite Falls
In late summer/early autumn, there is always a risk that the falls would be dry but we were lucky that there was a storm a few days earlier. Yosemite Falls was roaring with life.
Glacier Point
This was the highlight of the park for us. It took an hour to drive there from the main valley of Yosemite but it was totally worth it. The sweeping views of Half Dome, Yosemite Valley and Yosemite Falls were awe-inspiring.
